Subject: Disturbing

John Kerry on Defense -- I hadn't seen this list printed before.
It would make one heck of a mailer if it were sent to voters.
(So... send it to as many voters as you can!)

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to kill every aircraft carrier laid down from 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 Strike Eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot Anti Missile System
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F117

In short, he voted to kill every military appropriation for the
development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to include the battle armor for our troops. With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.

He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of the U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.

But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800%!!!
Is THIS a President YOU want?

Research this one a bit.

The top ones may be debatable, but *not* the bottom 3.

I need more information in order to be able to look these up. Timeframe for each one (context would be helpful, but I'll settle for a date)? Forgive me for being cynical about the addendum to a copy and paste of a misleading forwarded email. If these last bits are accurate, I will gladly admit as much.

It was originally designed as a simple troop carrier... but through the design process, they sacrificed that function to make it a more attack-oriented vehicle... one which it isn't really armored for and losing half its capacity to carry troops in the process. It was a matter of too many cooks spoiling a simple, effective vehicle and making it into something much more dangerous for the average soldier. Luckily, someone(James Burton), was able to get them to change their plans for using aluminum armor on the vehicle(after fighting to get live-fire tests which proved that soldiers inside would die from toxic fumes if hit), thus saving many, many lives in 1991:

"The US Army learned this when it tested early versions of the aluminum Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. In the Bradley tests, small RPG explosions caused only minor damage, but ignited the aluminum body and caused most vehicles to literally burn to the ground. Even worse, burning aluminum produces deadly fumes which instantly kill anyone inside. Only after heavy criticism and actual live-fire tests did changes occur. (see "The Pentagon Wars", by J. Burton, pp. 136-193) A steel armor coat was added and "spall liners" were installed inside to catch fragments. The latest model of the Bradley has an all-steel body. "
